Imagine a world where children of all denominations and classes could experience the joy of holding a puppy or nurturing a pet – even if for a moment.
Where they learn about the wonders of the animal kingdom and the innate intelligence and compassion which animals possess.
Where animal cruelty in all its facets is eliminated, and where a young person is the first to say “That’s wrong!” if someone abuses an animal or a group of people participate in the abusive treatment of animals or a whole species.
Where animals are protected by legislation not as property but as sentient beings, because these same children made sure of it when they reached voting age, if not before.
Where animal shelters and sanctuaries did not have to scrounge for every nickel of funding.
Where there were far fewer shelters because there is far less animal abuse and abandonment.
